FRIDAY, APRIL 27 th.
"One Month To La Festa Dei Ceri" Dinner at the St. Ubaldo Society Cultural Center. Dinner will be served from 5:00pm.-9:00pm. Cost is $10.00. Dinner includes a variety of Authentic Pasta, Italian Bread, Salad and Dessert. Take- Outs available.
***ROAD PAINTING ** SWITCHED TO SAT. MAY 5th!!**Beginning at 9:00 am. at the Society Logo on Church St. Other Logos will be painted throughout the day.
FRI. MAY 4th. "HOSPITALITY NIGHT" 7:00pm. Hosted by the St. Ubaldo Society at the St. Ubaldo Society Cultural Center. A brief program will be held officially announcing the May Events in Jessup. Including the announcing of the 2012 Capodieci and Swordsman, 50/50 Raffle, Entertainment, Lite Fair $5.00
SAT. MAY 12th. Chicken Parmesan Dinner, with pasta, salad and dessert.
$10.00 At the St. Ubaldo Society Cultural Center. Hosted by “The Family Of St. George” beginning at 5:00pm.
WED. MAY 16th. 7:00pm. The Feast Of St. Ubaldo Observed by the St. Ubaldo Society. Showing of La Festa Dei Ceri 2012 From Gubbio, Italy! Happy Hour and Lite fair. At the St. Ubaldo Cultural Center.
*** SAT. MAY 19th. 8:00 A.M. St. Mary's Church Outdoor Clean-up. We will be cleaning and sprucing up outside St. Mary's Church on 3rd. Ave, in preparation for the Bishop's arrival and the Mass on May 26th. All Volunteers are welcome!
SAT. MAY 19th. Feast of St. Ubaldo Celebration, hosted by the “Family of St. Ubaldo”. Mass 4:00pm at St. Mary’s Assumption Church. A social immediately following the mass at the Jessup VFW.
SAT. MAY 19th. 8:00pm. 3rd. Annual "One Week Till Race Day” Party Hosted by “The Family of Saint Anthony” at the Jessup American Legion on Church St. Jessup. Entertainment, 50/50 and Wine Basket Raffle. Cost is $10.00 Adults, $5.00 Kids (7-20)
SUN. MAY 20th. 1:00-4:00 pm. Jessup 21st. Century committee will hold their 16th. Annual Wine Festival Event at Station Park. Jessup winemakers will be on hand for a sampling of their finest wine.
MON. MAY 21st 5:00-8:00pm. Porchetta Sandwich Sale at the St. Ubaldo Society Cultural Center. The cost is 2 sandwiches for $6.00. *Veneration of the Most Holy Relic of St. Ubaldo at 7:00pm. A small prayer service followed by decoration of St. Mary’s Church. All Ceraioli and families are welcome!
TUES. MAY 22nd Annual Frittata Dinner at St. George’s Restaurant, Church St. Jessup. 6:00pm. Hosted by “The Family of St. George”. music and 50/50 raffle. Cost is $7.00
WED. MAY 23rd 5:00p.m. Practice for the Runners/Ceraioli will be held at Jessup Veterans Memorial Field. 8:00pm. OPEN HOUSE/RUNNER PARTY will be held at the St. Ubaldo Society Cultural Center. This is for all the runners/ceraioli. Viewing of past videos of “Race of The Saints” Jessup. $10.00
WED. MAY 23rd.- St. Ubaldo Family Clam Bake at the Jessup, VFW. Starting at 8:00pm.
THUR. MAY, 24th. 8:00 pm. The St. Ubaldo Society Annual Social will be held at the Jessup American Legion. Entertainment, Dancing, finger foods. A 50/50 drawing and basket raffle donated by the families of St. Ubaldo, St.George, & St. Anthony. All are welcome. Free of charge.
FRI. MAY, 25th. 6:00pm.- Saint Ubaldo Day Officials along with participants from St. Ubaldo, St. George and St. Anthony will meet at Grassy Island Avenue and Mylert Street for the Annual Firemen’s Parade.
*SATURDAY, MAY 26 th. * THE RACE OF THE SAINTS/ LA FESTA DEI CERI
The Band will travel throughout the streets of Jessup awakening the town.
*7:30am.- Society officers and members of the families of St. Ubaldo, St. George, & St. Anthony will gather at St. John’s Cemetery for a Ceremony honoring the past Ceraioli.
*8:15 am.- Families will then gather at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Montdale for a brief ceremony *10:00am.- All participants will gather at the St. Ubaldo Society Cultural Center to receive their “Fiore” flowers and organize for a Procession to the Mass. Coffee and pastries will be available.
*10:30am.- Procession to St. Mary’s Assumption Church.
*11:00am.- St. Ubaldo Day Mass honoring St. Ubaldo, St. George, and St. Anthony. *Celebrated by The Most Reverend, Bishop Joseph C. Bambera.
*12:00pm.- The Alzata or “Raising of the Saints” will take place outside the Church, beginning with a blessing and the tossing of the Brocche.
*1:00pm.- A Social will be held at The St. Ubaldo Society Cultural Center for the Ceraioli and Participants dressed in their respective colors.
*5:00pm. -A procession with the Most Holy Relic of St. Ubaldo will begin at the corner of Mylert St. and Grassy Island Ave. It will proceed to the beginning of the “Corsa Dei Ceri” on Powell Ave. and Ward St.
*5:30 pm. -After a blessing with the St. Ubaldo Relic the “Corsa dei Ceri” RACE OF THE SAINTS will take place throughout the streets of Jessup!
*8:00pm. -Shortly after ending the “Corsa” at the Jessup Veterans Memorial Field, a Candlelight Procession will be held returning the Saints and the Ceri. Families of St. Ubaldo, George, and Anthony will have Socials.
SUN. MAY 27th. *CHILDREN’S RACE OF THE SAINTS*
10:00am. All children will meet at St. Mary’s Church, Jessup. They must wear white pants. (girls can wear white skirts or shorts) Children will participate in the 11:00am. Mass honoring the Saints.
*12:00pm. -The Alzata or “Raising of the Saints” will take place, beginning with a blessing and the tossing of the Brocche.
*1:00pm.- The Children’s “Corsa dei Ceri” will begin at the corner of Ward St. and Powell Ave. following a blessing.
The Children’s race will end at the Jessup Veterans Memorial Field.
*2:30pm. -Immediately following the event, lunch will be provided for the children at the Field. *Children 12 and under who participated in the Kids Race will receive something “Special”*
